The reason we gather · Ant’s Place

A place to be yourself.
Before crisis.

Ant’s Place is being developed for struggling teens and the people who love them. A welcoming, nonclinical space where they can feel seen, heard, and understood.

Meet Ant. See what we’re building.

The person behind the place

This is Ant.

If you or someone you love is struggling, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Bright. Funny. Determined. Kind. Ant was all of those things, and so much more.

Diagnosed with autism at seven, he chose to hide that part of himself. Most people never saw how much he was carrying.

In April 2023, Ant was struggling with suicidal thoughts. He asked for help. His words were simple:

“I need to go somewhere.”

In 2024, Ant died by suicide. His parents, Samara and Neal, founded the Endurant Movement. Ant’s Place grows from the question his life and his words left them: what would it take to create the kind of place he was asking for?

“I can’t change what happened to Ant. But I can spend the rest of my life asking: What can we do to help?”

The vision

Imagine the door.

A teen and a parent walk in. Someone who has been there says, “Come sit.” There’s room to talk, room to be quiet, and someone willing to listen.

That’s the vision for Ant’s Place: connection and practical support when the struggle starts, before it becomes an emergency. A place where no one has to disappear to belong.

01 / A WARM WELCOME

Space to settle.

A comfortable room and time to take a breath. No pressure to have the right words.

02 / HUMAN CONNECTION

Someone to sit beside you.

People who listen and hold space for teens and the families who love them.

03 / A WAY FORWARD

Resources. Next steps. Hope.

Help finding resources and possible next steps, so families have more than a question to carry home.

Ant’s Place is planned as a nonclinical space. It won’t replace professional mental health care or emergency services.

Why this fundraiser

We’re bringing people together.
To help build a place.

Laugh and Death is a night of stand-up comedy benefiting the Endurant Movement and its work to develop Ant’s Place.

Neal Tricarico presents the show. We can talk about hard things, make room for each other, and still laugh together.

The work ahead includes welcoming spaces, volunteer hosts, supplies, and outreach to families. This fundraiser helps move that work forward.

Tickets pay for the show. Every gift made through the link below goes to the Endurant Movement.

Help bring Ant’s Place closer.

Give directly to the Endurant Movement to support its work, including the development of Ant’s Place. You can give whether or not you’re coming to the show.

Sometimes the best way through the hardest thing is to laugh at it in a room full of people who get it. Bring yours.

If you or someone you love is struggling, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. You can also text HOME to 741741 to reach Crisis Text Line.
